Dr. Karena Wu returns to The Today Show to discuss lower body injuries and how to prevent them. As the weather warms up and people exercise outdoors more, the lower body can get injured if the person is not conditioned or has not trained appropriately for the activity. Dr. Wu demonstrated 4 dynamic stretches that help to increase blood flow and circulation, warm up the tissues, prepare the body to move and mimic some of the movements of outdoor sports activities. Dr. Wu was on set with Al Roker, Sheinelle Jones, Craig Melvin and Jacob Soboroff to perform the stretches live on TV. Sheinelle was able to participate despite her stiletto heels as she modified the ‘Frankenstein’ Monster Walk and turned the exercise into a stationary leg swing. Great thinking on her part to change the exercise for her shoe wear.
